Red Brooch, 2014
This brooch is made of an enamelled chain base using a pinkie-red enamel, overlaid with red enamel leaves. The cocoons are dyed red and are then attached to the enamelled base. Their surface is covered with pieces of enamel leaves which are stuck on, creating the illusion that it’s all enamelled.Silver Cable Chain, Enamel, Silkworm Cocoons, Enamel Leaves*, Epoxy, Stainless Steel. 7cmx9cm. H3cm * Enamel leaves are created in the kiln without using a fixing agent or them being attached to any metal base. These leaves are then layered the one on top of another on the brooches to create a very organic, unique effect, a technique that I developed.
